About the Series

Golden Boy —
Legend of the Bosphorus

Golden Boy (Yalı Çapkını), airing on Star TV since 2022, is one of the most popular Turkish series today. It stars Mert Ramazan Demir and Afra Saraçoğlu in the lead roles.

The story follows a forced marriage between Korhan, the spoiled heir of a wealthy Istanbul family, and a humble young woman from Gaziantep. The luxury mansion on the Bosphorus has become the symbol of this tale full of love, intrigue, and family secrets.

The mansion used for filming is a genuine historic landmark of Istanbul. Its official name is Sevket Pasa Mansion, though it's also widely known as the Sabanci Mansion after the family that owns it.

Besides the mansion in Beylerbeyi, filming also took place in other picturesque neighborhoods along the Bosphorus — Arnavutköy, Bebek, and Emirgan. Our yacht route runs right along this stretch of the strait, so you'll see not just the mansion itself, but the atmosphere of the places where the story unfolds.

After the show ended, the mansion drew enormous attention from fans, and today it houses a Kilim Museum — featuring the collection of American photographer and collector Josephine Powell. Admission is free.

Worth noting separately: a historic stone house in the Beykoz-Riva area — built in 1855 as a boathouse, today operating as a hotel. This is where the scenes of Behlül and Bihter's time together were filmed. Another location from the show — Emek Kafe in Sarıyer, a cozy café that appeared in several scenes.

Common Questions

About the Mansion

Where is Golden Boy (Yalı Çapkını) filmed?
The Korhan family mansion at the heart of the show is a real building — the Sevket Pasa Mansion in Beylerbeyi, on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. Many interior scenes, however, are shot on studio sets rather than inside the actual mansion.
Can I go inside the mansion, or only see it from outside?
It's private property, so entry isn't possible. It can be viewed from the Beylerbeyi waterfront, but the best view — the same waterfront façade seen in the show — is from the water, which is exactly what this yacht tour offers.
Is the mansion still owned by the Sabanci family?
Yes, it remains privately owned by the Sabanci family, one of Turkey's most prominent business dynasties.
Do I need to be a fan of the show to enjoy this tour?
Not at all — this is a private Bosphorus yacht cruise in its own right, passing historic waterfront mansions, bridges, and neighborhoods, with the Sevket Pasa Mansion as one memorable highlight along the way.
